Is Procrastination an Act of the Subconscious

Recently I read a post on my friend Francesca K’s blog, Grow Abundant Life, on how we put things off - procrastinate, and the underlying reasons for doing so. Francesca says that there are emotions coming out of our subconscious that cause us to postpone to another time or day. Emotions are attached to beliefs and when we procrastinate, we are affected by our limiting beliefs. She goes on to defining steps to take to overcome this procrastination.

I agree with Francesca on a number of counts

*  emotions are attached to beliefs, limiting or not limiting
*  these beliefs lie in our subconscious

I disagree that this is the only reason we postpone. read more »

A Comment on The Ego-Mind and Its Impact

Hi There

I just came off reading an awesome article on the ego-mind and how to master it, or how it will master us. This is something I have not yet written about, but had the intention to do. The article is by one of my mentors, Dov Baron, whose blog posts I follow, as they give so much insight and tools to work with, when we decide to become masters of our lives. You will be able to read his full article by following the link below.

Here is a small excerpt of his article:

Mastering your ego-mind enables you to make empowered choices based on present-time information because you are operating within this moment, or as you might have heard before, ‘in the now’. read more »

Susan Boyle - A Tribute to Determination

There are times when a person comes into the awareness of all in one beat. With our fast communication the word spreads around the globe. This is a tribute to one extraordinary woman and singer.

The person becomes a celebrity overnight, and in the case here rightfully so. I am talking about Susan Boyle. She walked onto the stage of Britain Has Talent, and you could just hear the reaction of the audience. Let’s not say anything about the facial expressions of the judges.

Susan Boyle does not look like the person we normally expect in a competition of this sort. In    fact she does not look like a celebrity. Some of her actions prior to singing did not endear her in the eyes of either judges or audience. read more »

Mastermind Sessions as Think Tanks

Posted in Abundance on April 19th, 2009 by Birte – 2 Comments

The whole concept of mastermind groups and masterminding is something most of us hear about, some of us may be involved, but most of us think it is something best left for others. When I recently got together with some friends within the internet marketing framework, we began having mastermind meetings. This article has grown out of that and earlier experiences in group cooperation.

What is Mastermind and Masterminding
The word mastermind refers to brain, mind, intelligence. It also refers to contrive, design, invent, as well as originator and ringleader.
That’s quite a mouthful for one word.

A mastermind group that I will also call a think tank is a meeting of people with an intelligent brain or mind, inventing and designing. These people will most likely be the originator or ringleader in their field. A mastermind group is a workshop for thinkers in their business or industry, profession, or planning.

Advantages of Masterminding
When you have an idea and work on it alone, you only have your own mind to rely on. read more »

Comfortable - Outside The Comfort Zone

One of my readers, Eva, wrote me saying she had heard the expressions comfort zone and stretching, and did not understand them, what they are and how to use them. I thought that was such an awesome question and to honor her here is my answer.

What is the comfort zone

This is one of the simplest things for me to explain. Imagine yourself standing in the perfect middle of a perfect circle. The circle around you is your comfort zone. All that you have and that your are comfortable with and comfortable doing is within this circle. And that’s great.

What’s not great is that all the things that you want are outside the circle. read more »
